Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Air Purifier Review 2019

With rising levels of air pollution in India, many companies have begun to see great potential for launching air purifiers.

Dyson, a company that has earned a reputation in the air purifier market. The British company entered the Indian market with its Pure Cool Link model in March last year and since then has produced several new models.

Dyson brought its authentic Hot + Cool Purifier to India earlier this year, not only does this new machine claim to tackle the air pollution it creates in your home, but it also helps you maintain some of your home’s temperature – which can be useful especially during winter.

The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Air Purifier, like its siblings, has a premium price tag. 54.900. This new model has also been emphasized to capture 99.95 percent of harmful pollutant particles as small as 0.1 microns throughout. Additionally, the machine has a heating element to simultaneously heat the air as you clean it in your home. All of this justifies the price of the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool, and how is it different from its competition? Find out.

Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Design

Dyson is famous for making ruthless fans. Pure Hot + Cool Air Purifier Design The air flows from the same capsule-shaped body as we saw in the previous Dyson Pure Cool Link Air Purifier.

Unlike previously launched models on desk or tower versions that are specifically meant to stand on a table or on the floor, the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool is minimal and can be placed anywhere such as on a side table or floor.

The cylindrical base of the air purifier is quite similar to the previous generation models. Below is a mesh covering through which the air is drawn. You will also see a circular LCD panel that shows information about air quality, temperature and diagnostics.

As with the previous model, the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool can give a 350 degree incline, allowing the machine to project pure air throughout the room. The company has also added the ability to tilt the air purifier slightly. This is helpful if the machine is placed on the floor or on a tall sand.

Dyson says it has improved the air flow of pure Hot + Cool Air purifiers with a new dispersed projection mode. The machine uses two separate apertures and can move the airflow from front to back with the press of a button. As the purified air pushes from behind, it spreads over a wide area.

The heart of the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool, which makes it a perfect air purifier, is the pair of hidden filters underneath the mesh cover, Dyson uses a glass HPA filter covering an activated carbon filter.

Both filters have gaskets for viewing particles and preventing the machine from leaving. This fully sealed filtration system claims to help remove the most harmful gases and pollutants in your home.

Changing filters in Dyson Pure Hot + Cool is not a complicated task at all. To close the mesh cover you just need to push two buttons on either side of the cylindrical base. After that, you need to remove the HPA filter and then the activated carbon filter and replace both with the new one.

The Pure Hot + Cool Air Purifier has a single power button and Dyson resisted by showing plenty of control greed, which is quite common for other air purifiers. Importantly, this means you have to keep the bundled remote control handy, or have the Dyson Link app installed on a compatible mobile device to use all the features of the machine.

Speaking of remote control, it has the same thin, magnetic design that we’ve seen in previous Dyson air purifiers, but has extra controls to adjust the air temperature and change the air flow from the default forward projection to the all-new dispersed projection mode.

In terms of dimensions, the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Air Purifier has a length of 205mm and a height of 764mm. The base has a diameter of 248 mm. The machine weighs 5.71kg.

The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool design is as unique as its predecessors and many people will find it fascinating. There are White / Silver and Iron / Blue color options. We have personally found this to be more offensive and premium-looking than ever before, and our version was validated for verification.

Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Features

Air purifier work is usually a no-brainer and it only filters the air in a specific room. Dyson, however, does not want to team up with other options. The company has developed additional features for the POR Hot + Cool model, and the most attractive is actually a new addition to this model, with air purification being the most refined.

The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Air Purifier has a self-controlled ceramic plate that is hidden in the frame of the ring from which air is pumped out. These plates heat the air as it leaves the apparatus after continuing the purification process. There is a thermostat control that allows the machine to turn off the heating plates, save energy, and turn them back on when the temperature drops below that door when the target temperature is reached.

Unlike traditional space heaters, the main benefit of Dyson Pure Hot + Cool is safety. The machine is capable of raising the temperature of the room to 37 ° C but the outside body is not too hot to touch. The air flows in such a way that the whole house is evenly heated.

The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool’s heating feature gives it an edge over its competitors, but Dyson boasts many more features. According to the company, the machine uses a high-quality glass HPA filter, fueled 200 million times in 9 million borosilicate microfibers.

It is requested to remove 99.95 percent of allergens and pollutant particles as small as 0.1 micron. There is also a carbon filter, which is claimed to contain 300 grams of activated carbon, to capture gas and odor.

For both filters, Dyson recommends replacing them once a year based on 12 hours of use per day in auto mode.

Dyson uses three distinct sensors in a Pure Hot + Cool Air Purifier to detect airborne particles, including gases containing PM2.5 and PM10-rated particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). The machine uses proprietary algorithms to process inputs received from sensors and display real-time reports.

Users can check the air quality level through the air purifier LCD panel or use the Dyson Link app. Pure Hot + Cool’s overall filtration process is very similar to Dyson’s previous models.

However, the company said that the sensors contained in the new machine are intelligent and more advanced.

It is claimed to be able to project more than 290 liters of air per second using Air Multiplayer technology owned by Dyson Pure Hot + Cool.

This is significantly lower than the claim of the old Pure Cool Advanced Tower model, which throws more than 360 liters of air per second.

Nevertheless, the compact design of the new model can be changeable for many buyers. Users can tweak the airflow by adjusting the fan speed between 0 and 10.

Even at its highest speeds, noise is not an issue – what the company says is a key feature of all Dyson products. Pure Hot + Cool is not as loud as a standard tabletop fan, but it does provide better air pressure.

Auto mode of the device automatically adjust the fan speed to meet the target temperature level or just purify the air. If your air quality target is met even if the rocker stops, you can override it and select a specific angle using the Dyson Link app.

In addition to the Auto mode, Pure Hot + Cool has a night mode that slows down the LCD panel and reduces fan speed so you can sleep comfortably.

The machine continues to monitor and respond to air quality in night mode. There are timers to choose how long you want the air to purify your room.

The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool’s LCD panel shows air quality and temperature reports by default.

There is an ambient light sensor to adjust the brightness of the display in terms of room lighting. You can also check the filter’s wear level and Wi-Fi connection status directly from the LCD panel. The machine has no dedicated controls for selecting what is displayed, so you must use remote control to see all this information.

Alternatively, you can use the Dyson Link app on your Android or iOS device to view live air quality and temperature reports over Wi-Fi. The app also shows the temperature, air quality and humidity in your city. The Dyson Link app provides an interface that looks like a physical remote control. You can visualize patterns of airflow and adjust the swing.

You can set a schedule to launch authentic Hot + Cool at certain times of day or night using the app. There is a profile called Morning, All Day, Evening and Night so you are allowed to set up a seven day schedule, or you can select the day, time and settings yourself.

The Dyson Link app shows a graphical representation of the indoor air quality within a day or a week.

This allows you to monitor your room’s AQI level even when you are away and not actively using the air purifier. A bar graph shows how the machine has changed its fan speed over time. You can even see how long the machine was able to keep your target air quality.

You can of course set up multiple machines in the app and even have multiple users controlling a single pure hot + cool air purifier through your own mobile devices. You can even verify the life of HPA and carbon filters and remind you if the app needs replacing them.

Finally, Dyson has integrated with Pure Hot + Cool Alexa and has just received a dedicated Siri shortcut. This makes it possible to use voice commands to control the machine. In the Alexa application you need to enable Dyson skills or add specific Siri shortcuts to start using voice commands.

Dyson’s Pure Hot + Great Performance

The design and features of the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool certainly make it an easily standalone option in the air purifier market, but of course, unlike the competition that matters most when deciding on a purchase, Dyson’s CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) during its Air Purifier marketing As such, it doesn’t matter too much in certain cases. Instead, the company promoted its polar test, under which it used nine separate sensors to test air projection and refinement in a 5-meter cubed-sized room.

Details of how Dyson conducted the test are available online, and we’ve seen them in our previous stories, which you can read here.

In our experiments, we observed that Pure Hot + Cool was able to reduce contaminants in an air-conditioned room (running a fan), measuring 14 feet x 8.5 feet, from 83 micrograms per cubic meter to 46 micrograms per cubic meter in four minutes, by its own reading. To go from this level to 33 micrograms per cubic meter, the machine took 16 minutes. We lit incense sticks in the same room and Pure Hot + Cool was able to remove the dense smoke within minutes, but it took about 30 to 45 minutes for the odor to disappear.

The “hot” part of the Authentic Hot + Cool will appeal to consumers, especially those living in the harsh winter zones, when air pollution is particularly severe in some parts of the country.

Before we started we measured our house at 25 ° C and within half an hour we were able to reach our target of 37 ° C. We didn’t have to deal with any uncomfortable direct heat coming out of the machine. The experience was significantly better than the traditional traditional room heater.

The house was evenly heated to our desired temperature level, even when we checked the opposite angles. Pure Hot + Cool seems to be the safest option for heating a house since a device doesn’t get too hot. If you try to grab it, the machine stops idling. If you have a young child in your home, this is worth considering if you can try to touch the air purifier while it is moving.

Of course, like the previous Dyson air purifier, pure Hot + Cool capable of propagating “cool” air even in a room does not mean that the machine has any technology to replace your air conditioner, even the desert cooler – think of it as a pure table fan, Only it circulates pure air.

All in all, Pure Hot + Cool’s USP, which not only provides pure air but also the ability to project heat into your home, makes it a good option, though it’s not the fastest or most efficient air purifier we have tested though.

The verdict

Dyson Pure Hot + Cool is a premium home appliance that performs multiple functions and is also very handsome, unlike most traditional air purifiers. The flawless design and unique combination of features and use make it convenient to use.

The ability to increase the temperature of your home makes the pure Hot + Cool a unique product suitable for all seasons. However, this new model is not very affordable. If your main priority is to improve air quality, the Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2S and Philips 3000 Series AC3256 / 20 do a decent job and cost much less.
